He began his medical journey at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine before completing his Neurology residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine–Jacksonville. To master the complexities of brain and spine cancer, Dr. Makar was selected for a prestigious Neuro-Oncology Fellowship at Stanford University. There, he trained alongside world leaders in the field, gaining specialized expertise in managing primary brain tumors (Glioblastoma, Astrocytoma) and metastatic spine conditions. Today, he brings that same level of precision medicine to Lake Mary. Dr. Makar has served as a Principal Investigator for clinical trials involving immunotherapy and targeted therapies, ensuring his patients have access to the latest advancements in neurological care.
